Science Week Launches with Exciting News for St. Peter’s

We are proud to share that Transition Year student Aaron Gernon has successfully qualified for the BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, taking place in January.

Aaron’s project focuses on analysing the chlorine content in tap water across County Cork. With the support of staff who have been providing water samples from various locations, he is investigating how chlorine levels differ depending on water supply and what implications this may have for both human health and the environment.

This achievement marks a fantastic start to Science Week here at St. Peter’s, showcasing the curiosity, ambition, and scientific thinking within our school community.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Aaron and his mentor, Mr. Hurley, and wish them every success as they prepare for the exhibition ahead!
